About Tuscaloosa Housing Authority

The Tuscaloosa Housing Authority (THA) is a public housing agency created by resolution of the City of Tuscaloosa in 1951. THA is a quasi-governmental entity governed by a Board of Commissioners appointed by the Mayor. The property of THA is used for essential public and governmental purposes and is exempt from all taxes, including sales taxes on all its purchases of supplies and services.
